The Dry Fermentation Plant
The dry fermentation plant in the north of Munich uses the energy potential of Munich biowaste by processing it with the environmentally friendly method of dry fermentation. In 2008 the new plant starts its regular operations. It is situated at the Freimann Waste Disposal Area.

- The Dry Fermentation Plant
With a yearly capacity of 25,000 t it produces 1,8 million cubic meter of biogas and 9,000 t of compost.
This compost will be used as a fertilizer and a soil conditioner in agriculture and gardening.
The connected block-type thermal power station produces about 3,8 kilowatt hour electrical energy.
This dry fermentation process has a lot of advantages: A simple and easy to handle technology, low maintenance costs, low energy costs, low effects of contraires like wood, plastics and foils.
